On October 6th 2023 we held an Exhibition of Ockford-Godalming WI's creative abilities. Our theme was the
"Four Seasons" which included a photography display, various arts and crafts as well as cookery and preserves. It was so interesting to see what members have made - a very creative bunch! We had many paintings and stitchwork including knitting, crochet craft to see. There were several displays of very clever flower arrangements giving us insipration! We also had displays of garden produce which included house plants too. Finally there was some recycled furniture which had been repainted. A fantastic selection of framed paintings were displayed. They were amazing. A big thank you to all our members who took part and members who came and supported this fun event.
We held a very successful stall at Milford Fete on 10th June 2023, a very hot afternoon! The mayor of Godalming visited our stall.
Our rather wet outing to the Thatched Cottage in Alton, recently. A beautiful cottage garden with gypsy caravan. We had an interesting visit in spite of the rain getting lots of planting ideas. Well worth a visit. The church opposite was fascinating too with 2 ancient yew trees in the churchyard.
We had a practical demonstration at our April meeting from Jenny Beard of "Wild Garlic". We were able to sample the finished products, which were delicious.
Jenny made a lemon drizzle Simnel cake, Beetroot cured salmon and Blinis.
